February Book Haul 2017 (RUBY)

Hi, guys! Today I have my monthly book haul for February. I bought a lot of books this month so I’m going to split it up in 2 months. The second part might be up on March 1, but it will definitely be up soon, though. Let’s get into it!

Paper Towns by John Green:
Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving Margo Roth Spiegelman. So when she cracks open a window and climbs into his life, dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge, he follows. After their all-nighter ends, and a new day breaks, Quentin arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Quentin soon learns that there are clues—and they're for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Quentin sees the girl he thought he knew.

The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider:
Ezra Faulkner believes everyone has a tragedy waiting for them, a single encounter after which everything that really matters will happen. His particular tragedy waited until he was primed to lose it all: in one spectacular night, a reckless driver shatters Ezra’s knee, his athletic career, and his social life. No longer a front-runner for Homecoming King, Ezra finds himself at the table of misfits, where he encounters new girl Cassidy Thorpe. Cassidy is unlike anyone Ezra’s ever met, achingly effortless, fiercely intelligent, and determined to bring Ezra along on her endless adventures. But as Ezra dives into his new studies, new friendships, and new love, he learns that some people, like books, are easy to misread. And now he must consider: if one’s singular tragedy has already hit and everything after it has mattered quite a bit, what happens when more misfortune strikes?

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson:
Andie had it all planned out. When you are a politician’s daughter who’s pretty much raised yourself, you learn everything can be planned or spun, or both. Especially your future. Important internship? Check. Amazing friends? Check. Guys? Check (as long as we’re talking no more than three weeks). But that was before the scandal. Before having to be in the same house with her dad. Before walking an insane number of dogs. That was before Clark and those few months that might change her whole life. Because here’s the thing, if everything’s planned out, you can never find the unexpected. And where’s the fun in that?

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson:
Amy Curry is not looking forward to her summer. Her mother decided to move across the country and now it's Amy's responsibility to get their car from California to Connecticut. The only problem is, since her father died in a car accident, she isn't ready to get behind the wheel. Enter Roger. An old family friend, he also has to make the cross-country trip - and has plenty of baggage of his own. The road home may be unfamiliar - especially with their friendship venturing into uncharted territory - but together, Amy and Roger will figure out how to map their way.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton:
According to Ponyboy, there are two kinds of people in the world: greasers and socs. A soc (short for "social") has money, can get away with just about anything, and has an attitude longer than a limousine. A greaser, on the other hand, always lives on the outside and needs to watch his back. Ponyboy is a greaser, and he's always been proud of it, even willing to rumble against a gang of socs for the sake of his fellow greasers - until one terrible night when his friend Johnny kills a soc. The murder gets under Ponyboy's skin, causing his bifurcated world to crumble and teaching him that pain feels the same whether a soc or a greaser.

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins:
This is the first book in The Sweet series. Embrace the Forbidden. What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels. Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna. Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige:
This is the first book in the Dorothy Must Die series. I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask to be some kind of hero. But when your whole life gets swept up by a tornado - taking you with it - you have no choice but to go along, you know? Sure, I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little bluebirds. But I never expected Oz to look like this. To be a place where Good Witches can't be trusted, Wicked Witches may just be the good guys, and winged monkeys can be executed for acts of rebellion. There's still a yellow brick road - but even that's crumbling. What happened? Dorothy. They say she found a way to come back to Oz. They say she seized power and the power went to her head. And now no one is safe. My name is Amy Gumm - and I'm the other girl from Kansas. I've been recruited by the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked. I've been trained to fight. And I have a mission.

That’s it, guys! I hope you enjoyed reading this and part 2 will definitely be up soon!

Makeup Dupe Wednesday: 2/22 (RUBY & NEENA)

Hi, everyone! It’s been almost a year since we did our last Makeup Dupe Wednesday so we thought we’d bring them back! This week’s dupe is mascara. The brands we’ll be talking about today are Benefit and Maybelline. Let’s get into!

Both of these mascaras are incredible! They’re both long-lasting without any flakes, however we especially love Maybelline’s curved brush as it shapes the eye very nicely and provides the perfect curl while adding extra volume! But, of course, the Maybelline mascara is more affordable and can be found in virtually any drugstore.

Mascaras:

That’s it, guys! We hoped you enjoyed this and we’ll be posting more of these from now on.

Love,

Neena & Ruby
